A frame school was constructed on the north side of NE 4-24-23 in 1927 by early pioneers. Construction of the school and first year operating costs were about $3500.00 Locksley School opened on September 19, 1927with Miss. Hodgson as teacher. Through the years a total of 163, Grades 1-8 pupils, from 59 different families, were enrolled, with 23 different teachers as instructors. The school closed in 1967 due to amalgamation with Intermountain School Division. Pupils were then bused to school in Grandview. Land for this cairn was donated by Dale and Dessie Froese. Dedicated on August 5, 1995 to the former pupils, teachers and residents of the district.
