Russell Trail Half Way House

Date Cairn Erected: 1970

Legal Description: SW 19-23-25 (Bdry.)

Inscription:
This cairn was erected by the Municipality of Boulton and Grandview in 1970 as a tribute of respect to the pioneers who travelled the Russell Trail from 1892, opening up this area.

This is the former site of the Half-Way House built in 1893 and used as a stopping house between Grandview and Russell. It was owned and operated by Mr. Joseph Shepherd.

Their courage and faith is our heritage.
