Tamarisk United Church
SW 28-24-23
Tamarisk United Church is, among Unted Churches in Manitoba, an outstanding
representative example of a rural woodframe church. The interior, completely
covered in stained wood boarding, is almost completely original. Despite
the fact that regular services in the structure ceased in 1972, the
building and its many interior furnishings have been meticulously maintained
by area residents. Over the years the structure has functioned as a
"community" church, with both Lutheran and Mennonite congregations
using the facility for regular services until their own churches were
built.
Church services are held here once a year along with the occasional
wedding ceremony.
